Stamford Kitchen Makeover

These homeowners in Stamford, CT wanted a kitchen makeover by replacing the existing island, adding a custom sideboard, and updating the countertops. The challenges included matching the paint color of the existing cabinetry, keeping the existing backsplash tile intact, and carrying out the project, from planning to completion, while the client was away.

We used Greenfield Inset Cabinetry in the Jackson door style with a slab top drawer and 5-piece matching drawer fronts below. A custom paint was used on the sideboard to match the existing cabinetry at the L-shape. The island was finished in the Jockey color paint, giving it a deep red hue that added a beautiful and personal design element. Moreover, it was larger and more functional than the original island, loaded with storage on all four sides and topped off with a drop edge miter Silver Kara stone in a leather finish. The sideboard provides pet storage and connects the kitchen to the adjacent breakfast table.
