For Keron Sheridan of Sheridan Fine Interiors, this wasn’t just any kitchen renovation; this was a homecoming.
Tasked by her mother, Hope Sheridan, with renovating her childhood home, countless reminders of her colorful past adorned the walls. The faux painted dining room, which Keron painted as a teenager, gave way to the expanding footprint of the kitchen. Countless artworks, from both Hope’s children and grandchildren, papered every available square inch of the hardworking kitchen.
The small, cramped space was transformed into a bright, airy space with custom cabinetry by Greenfield, capped with gleaming Super White quartzite tops. The newly available natural light was accentuted using Benjamin Moore Paper Doll.
Design features include a large built-in refrigerator recessed into an unused hall closet, and storage for myriad countertop appliances was thoughtfully placed throughout.
Retractable doors above the microwave hide a small TV, and a vented microwave, made to look like custom built-ins, was placed over the counter where a griddle was frequently used. The hood also incorporates pull-out spice drawers for easy access.
